A reputable company is currently hiring for the position of Senior Project Manager in Albany. This role is well-suited for a Licensed Architect or Engineer with more than 10 years of experience, who excels in leading projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will oversee one or more projects and ensure that they adhere to budgets, schedules, and design standards while transforming initial design concepts into construction documents.

This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, with the option to work remotely for part of the workweek.

Core Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

  • Plan, organize, and guide project teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Promote collaboration among project designers, architects, and other team members.
  • Provide technical guidance and effectively resolve complex issues.

Project Management:

  • Oversee all project phases to ensure alignment with budgets, schedules, and design intentions.
  • Conduct on-site design development and contract document sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with client contracts, building codes, and ADA regulations.
  • Incorporate sustainable design solutions into project execution.

Client and Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Maintain open communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and sub-consultants to address technical issues and project details.
  • Identify new business opportunities and strengthen existing relationships.

Budget and Schedule Oversight:

  • Develop project schedules and communicate key deliverables to the team.
  • Monitor fees and labor costs to ensure compliance with contract terms.
  • Supervise the financial outcomes of assigned projects.

Qualifications

Licensure:

Must be a Licensed Architect or Engineer.

Experience:

At least 10 years of experience in managing architectural or engineering projects, including post-occupancy phases. Experience with K-12 and higher education projects is a plus.

Technical Expertise:

Strong knowledge of design trends, construction methodologies, materials, and sustainability practices. Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and Newforma is preferred.

Skills:

Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with strong conflict resolution and leadership abilities.

Additional Requirements

Availability to work overtime when necessary to meet deadlines. Ability to travel to project sites and perform site observations, including in varying weather conditions and high-construction areas. A background check may be required. The use of a hardhat, construction boots, and other safety equipment on-site is mandatory.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering.
