Senior FSQA Manager - Lewiston Woodville, NC

We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to lead a passionate poultry plant staff in the identification, progression, and realization of our Quality/Food Safety Policy and Quality Systems. As the Senior FSQA Manager, you will be responsible for evaluating, modifying, and enforcing our Food Safety and Quality Management systems (FSQMS), including HACCP, SSOP, FSIS regulations, and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, modify, and enforce Food Safety and Quality Management systems, including HACCP, SSOP, FSIS regulations, and programs.
  • Provide executive reporting on Food Safety and regulatory compliance and concerns about microbial management with actionable recommendations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on methodologies and recommend improvements where needed.
  • Utilize transformational skills to provide evidence-based leadership and effectively communicate with team members, management, and community leaders.
  • Evaluate current staffing to determine strengths and needs.
  • Develop and improve collaborative working relationships with sanitation and operations staff.
  • Develop and improve working relationships with USDA.
  • Lead and instruct the FSQA team to interface and maintain the use of digital data collection systems and other formats.


  • Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in FSQA, with at least 5 years in the poultry industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and all applicable regulations.
  • 10 years of progressive management or leadership experience.
  • 6 years of direct customer interface and support around Quality and Food Safety.
  • Experience managing requirements around verification programs such as NAE, NGMO, Gluten Free, BRC, SQF, HACCP, etc.
  • Extensive background in microbiology and food science.
  • Experience with USDA regulatory engagement.
  • Ability to develop and maintain company records relating to process workflows and regulatory organizations.
  • Robust knowledge and experience with intervention systems for reducing microbial load and risk in poultry processing.
  • Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate Food Safety and Quality strategy to senior management, regulatory bodies, customers, and copackers.
  • Proven ability to operate successfully in a rapidly growing organization and address regulatory issues.

Salary: $150,000.00 - $185,000.00
