About the Company:

A well-established and renowned brand name company is seeking a Waste Management Coordinator to join their team and meet the demands of their customers nationwide. You will report to the Production Manager and work onsite at their plant in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Job Description:

  • Develop a sanitation strategy at the plant level, identifying long-term goals and delivering results by effectively utilizing resources.
  • Coordinate and implement sanitation operations within the plant, ensuring all sanitation control measures are managed.
  • Engage team members to improve processes, while strictly adhering to safety guidelines, GMPs, and plant policies.
  • Track sanitation costs and effectively manage the department as a business, including the development of an annual department budget.
  • Provide training for the sanitation department, as well as sanitation training for other departments.
  • Manage third-party contract services for sanitation chemicals, pest control, and uniforms.
  • Coordinate monthly plant internal audits and lead corrective action efforts, facilitating corrective action meetings after findings.
  • Empower direct reports to take on new challenges, solve complex projects, and develop their skills.
  • Lead and document department training, post-operational inspections, ATP results, sanitation chemical titrations, daily sanitation operation sheets, and the master sanitation schedule.


  • High school diploma or GED, with a preference for a bachelor's degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading high-performance teams and effectively engaging team members to improve results.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sanitation, including experience as a Sanitation Manager.
  • Experience with CIP systems and wet cleaning is required.
  • Proven ability to perform formal root cause analysis to resolve downtime and inefficient operational issues.
  • Working knowledge of the Six Step Cleaning Process.
  • Ability to work off-shift and weekends as required.
