Our client is currently considering candidates from anywhere within the Carolinas or Georgia for the position of Retail Renovation Project Manager. We are also willing to consider candidates who are interested in relocating to these states.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

The Superintendent position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of site construction activities needed to complete the project/work on schedule and within budget. This includes managing the field and subcontractor personnel, ensuring the highest quality of work, coordinating trade activities, and enforcing construction safety practices. The Superintendent will also be responsible for maintaining the job site office and completing project closeouts.

This position is open to candidates living in the Carolinas, Georgia, or Eastern Tennessee who are open to local travel and some night work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise construction activities
  • Manage field operations to ensure project completion on schedule, within budget, and meeting quality standards
  • Maintain construction schedule and address any issues or problems
  • Order materials and schedule necessary inspections
  • Understand project plans and specifications
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and employees
  • Prepare daily and safety reports, schedules, and final punch lists
  • Promote job site safety and adhere to safety policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site
  • Conduct weekly progress meetings with all trades
  • Review job cost reporting and assist Project Manager in budget control
  • Review subcontractor scopes of work and provide feedback before contract award
  • Establish staging plans and manage site logistics
  • Collaborate with Project Manager in scheduling pre-construction meetings
  • Provide feedback on reviewed submittals for compliance and coordination
  • Ensure quality work is being done by employees and contractors

BACKGROUND PROFILE:

Requirements for this position include:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience leading crews or supervising remodel / upfit work
  • Experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, safety, and production across all construction phases
  • Experience in Retail Remodel or Retail Upfit for Publix and/or Walmart

MUST BE HANDS-ON WITH STRONG LEADERSHIP SKILLS
