Recreation Director

Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 per year

A premier skilled nursing facility in Bronx, NY is in search of an enthusiastic, organized, and compassionate Recreation Director to oversee their activities department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep knowledge of therapeutic programming tailored to long-term care residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive recreational program based on residents' needs and interests
• Create diverse monthly activity calendars featuring various programs
• Conduct ongoing assessments and contribute to care plans
• Supervise, mentor, and schedule recreation assistants
• Oversee specialized programming for specific resident needs
• Manage budget, track expenses, and order supplies
• Coordinate facility events and outings
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in nursing home or long-term care setting
• Prior supervisory or managerial role in recreational or activities department
• Certification as Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or Activity Director Certified (ADC) preferred
• Strong organizational and budget management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and public speaking abilities
• Familiarity with EMR systems and healthcare regulations
