Shift Quality Supervisor

Location: Indianapolis, IN

A well-known and respected company is offering an exciting opportunity at their Indianapolis plant for a Quality Supervisor. This role is available for both the 1st shift and the night shift. The position comes with a competitive 401K and incentive plan, as well as relocation assistance.

Our company is searching for an individual to join our team and support our nationwide customer base. As a Quality Supervisor, you will report directly to the Quality Manager and work onsite at our manufacturing plant in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will provide guidance, technical assistance, and scheduling to our quality assurance technicians and associates. Responsibilities include conducting audits, evaluating our HACCP program, providing GMP training, addressing quality and safety issues with operations personnel, inspecting incoming and returned products, handling customer complaints, implementing procedures, and assessing new equipment installation or repair.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead quality assurance activities, such as audits, training, and purchasing
  • Provide technical training to QA personnel
  • Monitor and verify the HACCP plan's CCPs
  • Conduct facility GMP and food safety inspections
  • Coordinate with production to monitor packaging lines for control of weights, metal detection, codes, and product/package integrity
  • Verify operations control systems are functional and being followed
  • Handle product holds, releases, and dispositions; evaluate damaged products
  • Coordinate the resolution of customer complaints
  • Review lab results for completion and compliance to programs

Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field preferred; will consider candidates without a degree if they have relevant experience
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Experience with HACCP plans
  • Understanding of government regulations, such as FDA and USDA
  • Experience in any manufacturing industry will be considered
