Day Shift Quality Supervisor - Avon, IN

A well-known and reputable company is currently seeking a Quality Supervisor for their plant located in Avon, Indiana. This position is for the day shift, with a start time of approximately 6:00am. The company offers an excellent 401K and incentive plan.

Our company, a leader in the industry, is looking to expand our team in order to meet the needs of our customers nationwide. As a Quality Supervisor, you will be reporting directly to the Quality Manager and will work on-site at our manufacturing plant in Indianapolis, IN. Your main responsibilities will include providing guidance, technical assistance, and scheduling to our team of quality assurance technicians and associates.

As a professional in quality assurance, you will be involved in all aspects of ensuring quality and safety, including audits, evaluating the HACCP program, conducting GMP training, addressing quality and safety issues with operations personnel, inspecting returned and incoming products, managing customer complaints, implementing procedures, and assessing new equipment installation or repair. In this role, you will supervise approximately 6 direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead quality assurance activities, such as audits, training, and purchasing
• Provide technical training to QA personnel
• Monitor and verify the HACCP plan's CCPs
• Conduct facility GMP and food safety inspections
• Coordinate with production to monitor packaging lines for control of weights, metal detection, codes, and product/package integrity
• Ensure operations control systems are functional and being followed
• Manage product holds, releases, and dispositions; Evaluate damaged products
• Coordinate the resolution of customer complaints
• Review lab results for completion and compliance to programs

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field
• At least 3 years of related experience, including experience in quality supervision
• Experience with HACCP Plans
• Understanding of government regulations, such as FDA and USDA
• Experience in the food process industry is preferred, but candidates from all manufacturing industries will be considered
