SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing the Plant's Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance programs, as well as developing and coaching a team of QA Technicians. Ensures compliance with company and government procedures and maintains a focus on food safety and a safe work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and foster a Safety Culture that prioritizes food safety and a safe work environment.
  • Comply with Food Safety Practices and maintain SQF certification through adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Quality Procedures, SQF requirements, and good housekeeping.
  • Support the plant’s SQF certification program.
  • Recognize and enforce QA policies, procedures, and directives, providing feedback and follow-up to ensure proper corrective action.
  • Coach and develop QA Technicians to effectively monitor and validate plant quality processes and procedures.
  • Focus on the continual improvement of the Quality at the Source program, ensuring its effectiveness and the proper execution of quality checks by Processing and Packaging Team Members.
  • Communicate information and troubleshoot problems in the production process among departments.
  • Prepare necessary reports and provide regular feedback to management.
  • Perform various duties as directed by the Quality Assurance Department Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards and systems for food safety, quality, and facility cleanliness.
  • Promote a culture of safety and maintain a safe work environment.
