Quality Manager

Job Title: Quality Manager

Location: New Hampton, Iowa

Salary Range: $90,000 to $120,000

Job Summary: Take charge of all quality functions, including creating, implementing, and maintaining a strategic quality plan. As the Quality Manager, you will develop and establish appropriate standards, policies, procedures, specifications, and training initiatives to govern quality activities throughout the company's processes.

Job Responsibilities:

· Establish, implement, and maintain a quality system.

· Ensure compliance to ISO 9001 by maintaining the quality system.

· Establish quality requirements with customers and suppliers.

· Build effective relationships with customers and suppliers, and lead initiatives to resolve quality problems in a timely manner.

· Support the advanced product quality planning (APQP) process.

· Assist in the development of processes for data acquisition and analysis.

· Manage the customer return material authorization (RMA) process and reduce returns through internal and supplier improvements.

· Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality.

· Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure quality performance metrics are met for the plant.

Education & Experience:

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Quality Sciences or Engineering. Equivalent work experience in a technical field will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Management leadership and Quality Engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Required: Quality-related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bonus: Experience in metals or foundry-related roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality core tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, etc.
  • Experience in implementing statistical quality methods.
  • Understanding of metrology and proficiency in using measuring devices like calipers, micrometers, hardness testing, x-ray, and CMM.
  • Experience in conducting destructive and non-destructive tests on materials and parts for performance evaluation and analysis of materials characteristics.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas.
  • Leadership experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Preferred: ASQ Quality Engineer certification.
  • Bonus: Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with ISO14001, ITAR, AS9100, TS16942, ISO14981 quality systems.
  • Experience with continuous improvement processes such as six sigma, kaizen, lean, etc.
