Poultry Processing Production Manager

Location: Lewiston Woodville, NC

Requirements:

  • A 4-year degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Engineering, or related field is strongly preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5 years of experience in poultry, 3 in operations management.
  • 1+ years of experience in marination.
  • Experience with various industry accepted procedures, including HACCP, SPC, etc., and plant efficiency as it relates to yield, lbs/birds pmh, line speeds, and automatic processing equipment.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Ability to supervise and recognize training needs for the operation as well as the associates and the willingness to support those needs and develop associates.
  • Ability, knowledge and commitment to put safety of associates above everything else while achieving goals.

Job Description:

The Production Superintendent will have overall responsibility for the efficiency and effectiveness of the marination department on the first shift. They will provide guidance, training, and coaching to Production Supervisors and indirectly to hourly production associates. This position is accountable for achieving company-established production goals and ensuring a safe working environment for all associates. The Production Superintendent will also foster a positive working relationship with the production and support staff to position the company as the employer of choice.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish, measure, and be accountable for departmental operating budgets to maintain a competitive position in the industry.
  • Meet all departmental operational plans, ensuring that yield, birds per man hour, pounds per man-hour, line efficiency, CSI, and QI requirements are met.
  • Implement processes to reduce turnover and improve safety results, as measured by the Safety Scorecard, to create an environment that makes the facility the Employer of Choice.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance supervisory skills of staff and improve the skill set of hourly production associates to maximize individual and team productivity.

Salary: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00
