Marination Operations Manager

Location: Lewiston Woodville, NC

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field. Candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered. In addition to the educational requirements, the following qualifications are necessary:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in poultry, with at least 3 years in operations management.
  • At least 1 year of experience in marination.
  • Familiarity with industry accepted procedures, such as HACCP and SPC, as well as knowledge of plant efficiency metrics like yield, lbs/birds pmh, line speeds, and automatic processing equipment.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and achieve results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Ability to identify training needs and support the development of associates.
  • Commitment to prioritizing the safety of associates above all else while meeting operational goals.

Job Description:

The Marination Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the effectiveness and efficiency of the debone department on the 1st shift. The role involves providing guidance, training, and coaching to Production Supervisors and indirectly to hourly production associates. The main objective is to achieve company-established goals for production activities and ensure a safe and secure working environment for all associates using approved processes. Building positive relationships with the production and support staff to make our company the employer of choice is also crucial.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and managing departmental operating budgets to maintain a competitive position in the industry.
  • Meeting all operational plans for the department, ensuring requirements for yield, birds per man hour, pounds per man-hour, line efficiency, CSI, QI, are met.
  • Implementing processes to reduce turnover, improve safety results, and create an environment that attracts top talent in the area.
  • Providing ongoing training to enhance supervisory skills of staff and improve the skill set of hourly production associates to maximize individual and team performance.
