Job Title: Production Manager – Night Shift

Location: Norfolk, Nebraska

Salary: $70-120K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Production Manager:

The Night Production Manager is responsible for directing the facility to support overall business objectives. This includes managing all aspects of daily production, ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining sanitation, and assisting the EHS manager with implementing safety programs and policies in the Production area. The Production Supervisors will report to the Production Manager.

Job Responsibilities of the Production Manager:

• Develop key manufacturing plans and programs to achieve budgeted unit cost and output objectives.
• Coordinate activities of all manufacturing functional areas to ensure continuity towards plant goals, communicating priorities as necessary.
• Create SOPs for all production processes.
• Maintain a production capacity that aligns with sales volume requirements and develop contingency plans as needed.
• Develop and track annual operating budget to measure progress towards objectives.
• Maintain and improve the quality of plant assets, both current and fixed.
• Enhance technical and manufacturing management skills at the plant.
• Establish performance standards for all supervisors, maintain current job descriptions and improvement plans.
• Set appropriate scheduling and employee work schedules according to customer orders and plant performance requirements.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to establish quality specifications for incoming raw materials and monitor their compliance.
• Work with Quality/R&D to develop new products/processes and improve existing ones. Oversee all experimental and test runs, and report on the results.
• Manage inventory of off-spec materials, and schedule and rework products as necessary.
• Maintain formulation data system, including entering all new product formulations.

Education & Experience of the Production Manager:

• 5-7 years of previous management experience in a dairy or whey manufacturing facility is REQUIRED!
• Background in dairy, evaporators, and/or drying technologies.
• Experience in dairy manufacturing or whey is required.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Excellent knowledge of plant operation procedures and business system software applications.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Ability to work a night shift schedule of 6pm-6am, 2-2-3 Schedule.
• Bilingual background highly desired.
