Plant Systems Administrator (Windows/VMware)

Location: Charleston, SC

We are a leading manufacturer in North America and we are currently seeking a highly skilled Plant Systems Administrator to oversee the IT infrastructure at our two facilities. Based in Charleston, SC, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and secure operations of our manufacturing systems.

If you possess advanced knowledge in Windows, Active Directory, and VMware, and enjoy collaborating with Operations and Engineering teams to improve processes, we invite you to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the administration of physical and virtual servers, with a focus on Windows servers running on VMware.
• Ensure the security, backup, and recovery of Active Directory in the plant environment.
• Collaborate with the Information Security team to safeguard systems from potential threats.
• Oversee Thin Manager, Thin Clients, and operator stations.
• Work closely with engineering teams to implement changes while adhering to IT change management processes.
• Troubleshoot system issues and engage with vendors as necessary.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to IT colleagues in systems administration and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 4-7 years of experience in IT, preferably in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Extensive experience with Windows, Active Directory, and VMware environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Preferred experience with Cisco Nexus, Siemens Industrial network equipment, VSAN, VMware 7, Veeam, and FortiGate firewalls.
• Capability to travel up to 10%.
