This role focuses on reviewing and determining the fate of non-conforming material for gas turbine engines in various industries. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Design Authority, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure high engineering standards and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and determine the fate of Non-Conforming Material (NC), including parts, deviation requests, and waivers from OEMs and the supply base. This entails examining technical specifications, fit, form, function, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure proper segregation and management of non-conforming parts to comply with regulatory standards while awaiting review and formal disposition.
- Work with Design Authorities to assess part repair requirements and usage parameters.

- 15+ years of experience for full MRE certification, enabling the engineer to perform tasks across multiple engine components.
- In-depth experience with MRB (Material Review Board) processes and non-conformance management in government-regulated industries (Aerospace & Defense, Medical, Mass Transit).
- Experience interacting with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for managing and storing NC data.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, with a strong knowledge of GD&T and modern manufacturing processes (metal, composites).
- Proven experience in quality assurance processes, including part qualification, non-conforming material disposition, and continuous improvement projects.
Desired Skills:
- A service-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and in teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting technical data to customers and regulatory representatives.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Experience with developing and mentoring junior engineers is highly valued.
Work Environment:
- Office and/or shop floor environments with periodic physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent use of a computer for technical work, reviewing documents, and managing data.
