Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will take the lead in designing, developing, and optimizing intricate mechanical systems and components. Your extensive technical expertise will guide engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical Design & Development:

  • Contribute to the design, analysis, development, and testing of electronic, power, and control systems and subsystems, from initial concept through to production.
  • Review and ensure compliance with customer specifications and contract performance requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, other mechanical engineers, and designers to develop and refine components and systems.
  • Integrate Design for X (DfX) methodologies, including Design for Cost, Design for Test, and Design for Manufacturability, into product development.

Problem Solving & Innovation:

  • Investigate and address product or process issues, implementing cost-effective and timely solutions.
  • Develop prototypes to address and mitigate key development risks.

Project Management:

  • Oversee schedules and budgets across multiple programs, ensuring the timely completion of moderately complex technical activities.
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.

Proposal Preparation:

  • Participate in the preparation of moderately complex proposals, providing technical input and support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in designing and developing mechanical packaging for electronic systems, with a preference for experience in controls, power conversion, or electric drive systems.
  • Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, ANSYS, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of thermal management, shock and vibration structural design, and reliability engineering principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues effectively.
