MES Operations Manager - Boston, MA

Overview:

We are in search of a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Manager. The successful candidate will lead the implementation and ongoing management of our MES platform. This position requires deep expertise in MES technologies and the ability to drive system adoption and best practices across various teams. The MES Operations Manager acts as a crucial liaison between production floor operations, technical development teams, and senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary subject matter expert on the MES platform, offering insights and guidance to optimize its use.
  • Engage with plant personnel to gather requirements, identify challenges, and explore opportunities for system enhancement and training.
  • Create comprehensive training materials and conduct training sessions to ensure the effective use of the MES system.
  • Manage the rollout of new features, coordinating with corporate and plant teams for seamless integration.
  • Align user requests with organizational goals, prioritizing system improvements and feature enhancements accordingly.
  • Monitor system updates and communicate changes and enhancements to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to integrate and test new functionalities, ensuring a unified system experience.
  • Advise corporate and plant management on maximizing system capabilities to drive process and productivity enhancements.
  • Mentor manufacturing managers and leaders in adopting new technologies to foster continuous development.
  • Approximately 15-20% travel required to company facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Knowledge of ISA88 batch processing, OEE concepts, SPC control, databases, and reporting systems is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for collaboration across diverse teams.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing, focusing on continuous improvement, maintenance, operations, or engineering.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Ignition by Inductive Automation MES is beneficial. Prior experience with MES products from Aveva, Rockwell, or another SCADA vendor is also a plus.
