Job Description: Mechanical Maintenance Technicians
Location: Atlanta, GA
General Summary:
A well-established company with a dominant market share in manufacturing is looking for 2 Maintenance Technicians (one for the day shift and one for the 2nd shift) with a primary focus on hydraulics, pneumatics, and valves. The job is located in southwest suburban Atlanta, GA. The position offers an attractive hourly rate, with an additional $1.00 per hour for the 2nd shift. The day shift is from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Overtime is paid at time and a half. Company benefits include an attractive 401K plan with matching, and relocation assistance is provided.
The primary responsibilities include maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting equipment and site property, making necessary adjustments, and performing mechanical/electrical repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions:
Level I
- Work with pneumatics and principles of compressed air during the course of the job.
- Identify the basic components used in hydraulic circuits using the basic principles of hydraulics.
- Understand the schedule rating of pipe and fittings, and identify common plumbing fittings.
- Install both 120 and 480 volt circuits, as well as other electrical-related tasks.
Level II (Includes Level I responsibilities)
- Troubleshoot air logic systems using schematics.
- Explain the transmission of force and energy in a hydraulic circuit.
- Perform plumbing-related tasks, including layout and installation of various plumbing systems.
- Perform electrical-related tasks, such as reading and writing electrical schematics and troubleshooting PLC systems.
- Perform welding tasks, including Arc welding, Mig welding, plasma, and oxy-fuel cutting.
Level III (Includes Level I & II responsibilities)
- Install air logic controls from prints or schematics.
- Troubleshoot complex hydraulic circuits, identifying and explaining the different components.
- Use knowledge of fabrication equipment to complete maintenance tasks.
Education/Experience:
Level I
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level II
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2-4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level III
- Technical training certificates or Associates Degree
- 6-8 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, and communicate verbally. The employee frequently stands, walks, reaches, climbs, stoops, kneels, and crawls. Occasionally, the employee may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions:
The employee frequently works in a loud environment and may be exposed to extreme heat, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
