Location: Rochester, Minnesota

Salary: $65-80K DOE

Job Summary:

The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for identifying issues related to product flow and applying lean principles to improve process efficiency, minimize waste, and reduce work-in-progress (WIP). This position will oversee and manage a team of Industrial Engineering (IE) operators and technicians, providing clear guidance, promoting skill development, and enhancing overall team performance to support continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and Industrial Services Data collection
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles
  • Demonstrated ability to apply throughput improvement processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a focus on critical tasks

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement lean activities, such as 5S, standard work, visual management, pace to takt, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and 8D, to eliminate waste and enhance productivity
  • Develop facility Leads, Supervisors, and Managers by driving a culture of continuous improvement (CI) and operational excellence
  • Track and oversee continuous improvement activities across manufacturing and office functions
  • Standardize and optimize manufacturing processes, sequences, layouts, and flow
  • Create detailed plans, ensure project performance, and achieve timely completion of improvement projects and savings goals
  • Design equipment layouts, workflows, and safety precautions to maximize plant utilization
  • Manage equipment capital expenditures, including design, vendor selection, procurement, and implementation
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and site Leadership team to develop a continuous improvement roadmap for driving best-in-class performance
  • Create and improve capacity modeling, production planning tools, and time standards
