Job Title: Industrial Engineer

Location: Decorah, Iowa

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year

Job Summary of the Industrial Engineer:

The Industrial Engineer will take charge of identifying issues that hinder product flow, using lean principles to eliminate process bottlenecks and reduce work in progress (WIP). This role involves supervising IE operators and technicians, offering guidance, and enhancing their skills and performance.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Industrial Engineer:

• Implement lean activities like 5S, standard work, visual management, value stream mapping, and Kaizen to eliminate waste and boost productivity.
• Drive the professional growth of facility Leads, Supervisors, and Managers by championing a culture of continuous improvement.
• Optimize manufacturing processes, sequences, layouts, and flow.
• Oversee continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of operations, including manufacturing and office spaces.
• Create detailed plans, monitor project progress, and ensure timely completion of improvement projects and cost-saving targets.
• Design equipment layouts, workflow, and safety measures to enhance plant and manufacturing facility utilization.
• Spearhead equipment capital expenditures, from design to implementation.
• Collaborate with Operations Manager and Site Leadership Team to develop a roadmap for continuous improvement.
• Develop capacity modeling, production planning tools, and time standards.

Education & Experience Requirements of Industrial Engineer:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering is a MUST!
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering.
• Proficiency in data collection, root cause analysis, and practical problem-solving.
• Proven ability to apply throughput improvement techniques.
• Knowledge of LEAN principles.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skills.
• Self-driven with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and focus on crucial tasks.
