JOB SUMMARY:

The Service Manager will be responsible for achieving service gross profit objectives, managing operations organization, and maintaining a customer base. This individual will work closely with customers to fulfill contractual obligations and ensure the proper maintenance of HVAC and electrical systems. Furthermore, the Service Manager will coordinate with a crew and subcontractors to manage a portfolio of business, maintain profitability, and handle necessary paperwork, including weekly reporting. This position will also involve designing, estimating, and proposing new service projects, as well as upgrading existing agreements.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Redeem planned gross profit through effective management of the subordinate organization.
  • Delegate and organize work according to job descriptions and procedures, assisting subordinates in setting objectives.
  • Thoroughly audit and document the performance of subordinates, providing appropriate follow-up.
  • Conduct job site visits to inspect equipment and equipment rooms, ensuring quality performance.
  • Instruct, direct, and monitor subordinates in providing materials, directions, tools, and logistical support to maximize productivity.
  • Motivate subordinates to maintain high employee morale.
  • Ensure proper staffing of jobs to control labor costs.
  • Promptly address customer complaints to ensure resolution and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Perform customer C.A.R.E.(S) to ensure strong customer relationships.
  • Promptly address customer needs to ensure resolution and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Support the sales force as required.
  • Manage, instruct, direct, and monitor subordinates to ensure efficient use of equipment, tools, and materials, while maintaining efficiency in field operations.
  • Achieve or exceed expense reduction targets relative to the annual plan.
  • Motivate and train subordinates, implementing programs to enhance individual and group skills.
  • Ensure the technical capabilities of the field force align with contractual commitments and market strategy.
  • Conduct regular status reporting/review meetings with subordinates and supervisors.
  • Compile information gathered, along with personal observations, and make recommendations to the Operations Manager on all matters affecting service operations.
  • Forecast workforce, manpower, organizational changes, vehicle requirements, and actual gross profit levels.
  • Effectively negotiate price escalations with existing agreements at renewal time.
  • Respond promptly to notices of cancellation and strive to retain the customer, aiming to renew at least 92% of the existing contract base annually.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to establish guidelines for determining crew size, monitoring accordingly, and recommending additions or deletions based on the annual operating plan and performance.

SALES RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accomplish project sales plan with a minimum of $450,000 in sales.
  • Promote new business and upgrades to existing agreements by instructing and directing subordinates to generate and report leads and sales opportunities.
  • Provide sales personnel with qualified leads and notify them of competitive sales efforts.
  • Provide construction with 6 leads throughout the year.
  • Encourage field technicians to propose and close at least one opportunity per month.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interview, assist in hiring, review, and discipline subordinates as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Service Technician, Service Manager, Project Sales Representative, or Operations Manager.
  • 5 years of experience managing commercial accounts.
  • 5 years of experience in commercial, educational, governmental, or industrial facilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. Standard office equipment, such as a computer, phone, photocopier, filing cabinets, and fax machines, is routinely utilized.
- Must be able to drive to and from business appointments and job sites.
- Must be capable of climbing ladders to access equipment.
- Must be willing and able to open mechanical equipment and visually inspect operation, following proper training and safety requirements.
