Position Overview:

Our client is in need of an experienced HVAC Chiller Service Technician to join their Service Group in Trumbull, CT. This position will involve performing maintenance, repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting on various HVAC systems, with a primary emphasis on centrifugal, screw, reciprocating, and scroll chillers. The technician will also work on both air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, refrigeration equipment, boilers (water/steam), and unitary HVAC equipment. The main goal is to ensure efficient and reliable operations for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chiller Maintenance and Service:
    • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on centrifugal, screw, reciprocating, and scroll chillers.
    • Service air-cooled and water-cooled chillers to ensure optimal performance and system reliability.
  • Refrigeration and Boiler Systems:
    • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain refrigeration systems to ensure efficient operation.
    • Work on boilers (water/steam) to maintain compliance with safety and efficiency standards.
  • Unitary HVAC Systems:
    • Perform maintenance and repairs on unitary HVAC equipment, such as cooling units and air handling systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
    • Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues in HVAC systems and chillers.
    • Utilize diagnostic tools to detect faults and make necessary repairs in a timely manner.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and inspections.
    • Provide clients with detailed reports on the status of their equipment, along with recommendations for maintenance or upgrades.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Effectively communicate with clients about service needs, equipment performance, and recommended actions.
    • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring client satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC Chiller Technician or in a similar HVAC service role.
    • Strong knowledge of centrifugal, screw, reciprocating, and scroll chillers, as well as refrigeration systems, boilers (water/steam), and unitary HVAC equipment.
  • Licensing and Certifications:
    • Valid HVAC or Refrigeration Technician license (preferred).
    • EPA certification (required).
    • Additional certifications in chillers or related systems are a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems related to HVAC systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
    • Knowledge of industry safety standards and regulations.
