Second Shift HR Generalist
Location: Spring Grove, IL
The HR business partner role is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. This position acts as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues, serving as an employee champion and change agent.
The primary responsibilities include assessing and anticipating HR-related needs, effectively communicating these needs to the HR department and business management. The HR business partner seeks to develop integrated solutions and partnerships across the company to provide value-added service to management and employees that align with the organization's business objectives.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing a full range of human resource services to assigned work units/areas, including recruitment, employee development, employee relations, compensation & benefits, workforce planning, reward and recognition, and performance management
- Collaborating with department leadership to assess workforce needs, develop strategies, and action plans to address workforce issues
- Acting as the primary HR contact for all human resource needs, providing guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning
- Consulting with employees on HR-related matters, providing counsel on benefits, policies, and procedures, and assisting in the resolution of issues before they become major concerns
- Screening and interviewing applicants, recommending top candidates to managers, and developing strategic action plans to increase the applicant pool
- Delivering new hire onboarding orientation
- Completing and entering process flows for partners in their assigned recruitment areas
- Conducting thorough investigations regarding complaints/allegations, preparing accurate documentation, and recommending appropriate action
- Representing the company at unemployment hearings and EEOC hearings
- Contributing to and completing special projects and actively participating in the HR community
- Performing other assigned duties and projects based on organizational needs, skill set, and interest
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- Manufacturing experience preferred
Certification in one of the following is preferred:
- SHRM Certified Professionals (SHRM-CP)
- SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
- Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) from HR Certification Institute
- Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) from HR Certification Institute
