THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Hire an experienced field mechanic with diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for multiple brands including Caterpillar and Komatsu
  • Display a high degree of professionalism at all times
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs in a timely manner
  • Have and maintain a clean driving record to operate company vehicles for daily duties
  • Perform required repairs to systems such as Engines, Transmissions, Final Drives, Brakes, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Electrical Systems
  • Operate and test equipment after repair or assembly
  • Record and report usage of all components, parts, consumables, and other resources
  • Aid as necessary to the Contour, Carolina Wrecking, Carolina Concrete operations personnel
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) specified for equipment tasks
  • May be required to perform light welding and fabrication work

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The qualified candidate should have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

  • Diagnostic Tools and On-Board Systems
  • Experience with Caterpillar and Komatsu products
  • Welding Experience
  • Ability to read and understand operation and service manuals, system schematics, and technical drawings
  • Ability to research and request parts as required
  • Perform required repairs to systems such as Engines, Transmissions, Final Drives, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Electrical Systems
  • Operate and test equipment after repair or assembly
  • Record and report usage of all components, parts, consumables, and other resources on their daily paperwork
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) specified for equipment tasks and be willing to be involved in the development and review/revision of procedures when required
  • May be required to perform light welding and fabrication work

Requirements:

  • 5 years or more Light/Heavy Equipment Maintenance experience
  • Pre-employment background check, drug/alcohol screen, and physical
  • Clean MVR (no more than 3 MV in a 3-year period)
  • CDL Required

WORKING CONDITIONS

The Mechanic position is a mentally demanding job. He/she will be lifting, pulling, and managing heavy equipment and objects from time to time. The Mechanic will have to work in all weather conditions and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold. The Mechanic must ensure that all activities are completed in a safe and efficient way.
