Group Benefits Account Manager

Hybrid position with our client - a privately held employee benefits company in metro Detroit seeking to recruit an experienced Account Manager. In this role, you will manage a diverse clientele's book of business (25-300 lives). The accounts may range from fully insured to partially self-funded, self-insured, or captive. You will work with a dedicated account team to ensure customer satisfaction, resolve problems, and retain clients. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding new clients
  • Responding to inquiries from clients and carriers
  • Completing RFPs and requesting census
  • Initiating vendor renewal requests with Service Rep. and coordinating the process with the agent to negotiate all renewal rate relief
  • Preparing Open Enrollment guides, checklists, forms, summaries, and webinars
  • Conducting OE meetings, health fairs, and webinars
  • Participating in pre-renewal, renewal, and post-renewal meetings
  • Responsible for Compliance & Regulatory oversight with clients

Experience & Software:

Related experience in a group benefits setting

Active Life and Health license or willingness to obtain it within 90 days of employment

MS Office Suite

Brokerage Builder/ZyWave software

This position will become hybrid after the initial training period of 90 days or can be 100% in-office (your choice). There is no overnight travel. You will work from home for three days a week and in the office for two days a week (Rochester Hills).
