THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

As a Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for leading and directing activities on a specific project, while adhering to company policies, OSHA/MSHA regulations, and meeting company goals.

Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to OSHA and other regulations as well as company policies
Read and interpret engineered plans and stake out in the field
Set up GPS base station and GPS-guided equipment
Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA), toolbox talks, and any required safety training and planning related to the project
Communicate production issues and constraints, and implement plans to overcome them
Ensure safe and secure storage of heavy equipment
Participate in routine equipment maintenance
Practice 'Safely, All Day'
Complete daily fuel, load count, and hour logs
Complete daily workplace examinations and address any deficiencies
Maintain all credit card receipts, code them correctly, and submit weekly expense reports
Maintain a professional appearance
Maintain company vehicle to company standards
Perform general daily preventative equipment maintenance
Maintain current tool inventory in maintenance trailer/truck
Maintain fuel tank level and inventory, and communicate to management for deliveries
Keep the job site clean, prepared for inclement weather, and on track
Maintain all erosion control devices and report any deficiencies
Guide and lead the crew in all daily activities
Perform minor emergency repairs on equipment as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Proficient in equipment operation and maintenance
Expertise in equipment safety
Experience with grading and general land preparation for commercial, municipal, and other projects
Familiarity with general site preparation techniques and procedures
Knowledge of site preparation surveying and layout
Ability to operate front end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, excavators, scrapers, and other heavy equipment
Understanding of road construction and maintenance techniques
Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures – OSHA and/or MSHA training is a plus
Awareness of equipment cleaning standards and procedures
Strong client service and public relations skills
Ability to build and lead a team
Effective verbal and listening communication skills
Proficient in English communication
Basic reading and writing skills for recording pickups and maintaining daily records
Excellent time management skills
Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 3 moving violations in 3 years
Must be able to pass drug/alcohol screenings
Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs
