A highly regarded poultry processor is seeking a Supervisor for Food Safety and Quality Assurance at a further processing plant in Monterey, TN.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (Food Science, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Operations Management, Biology, or Chemistry preferred)
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • 3 or more years of related experience
  • HACCP certification
  • Knowledge of USDA regulations including GMP, SSOP, HACCP, and labeling
  • Experience with food safety plant style audits

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the continuous development and implementation of SSOP and HACCP plans to meet USDA regulations, company, and customer expectations for food safety
  • Monitor and verify production SSOP and HACCP records
  • Monitor plant GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and other prerequisite programs daily
  • Proactively identify and address problems using SPC (Statistical Process Control) tools or other tracking/trending analysis skills
  • Audit all SSOP and HACCP records and provide feedback to management
  • Maintain positive relationship with USDA and stay up to date with regulations
  • Train and document training of all plant associates on SSOP and HACCP programs
  • Conduct validations of scientific data supporting facility food safety decisions
  • Handle food safety problems during the shift by developing appropriate solutions and corrective actions/preventative measures

This is a first shift position from 6 am - 3 pm.
