Field Service Technician

Job Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Harrisbug, Pennsylvania
Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Field Service Technician: We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician who is self-directed and proficient in customer interactions. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to write technical reports and assist the Engineering team with product improvement recommendations. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for independently assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
  • Electronics or Electrical certificate or degree
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time (both domestic and international travel)
  • Proficient in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Highly preferred knowledge of PLC's
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficient in Windows environment and software applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Clean driving record
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Experience working with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required
  • Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platform(s) highly preferred
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport for international travel

Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:
  • Frequent interaction with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors
  • Assisting in scheduling and coordinating the participation of vested parties during equipment installation and start-up activities
  • Ensuring timely response to customer inquiries
  • Troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment on-site and remotely
  • Repairing equipment at customer facilities, handling both warranty and non-warranty claims
  • Conducting routine inspections of existing system installations
  • Ensuring proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines
  • Traveling to customer sites for final commissioning and demonstration of equipment functions according to specifications
  • Supporting the project team in clearing punch list items and meeting project requirements
  • Participating in project and construction meetings as necessary
  • Providing technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel
  • Acting as a troubleshooter for technical issues, analyzing and resolving faults on-site
  • Coordinating with customers and/or end-users to plan site visits and travel arrangements
  • Providing direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities
