Location: Nashville, Tennessee

Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Field Service Technician:

We are searching for a Field Service Technician who is capable of working independently, has excellent customer communication skills, can generate technical reports, and can provide input to the Engineering team on product improvement suggestions for the Product Development Group. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems, both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibilities
  • Certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical field
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time (including both domestic and international travel)
  • Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Highly preferred knowledge of PLCs
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficient in Windows environment and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Clean driving record
  • Absence of fear of heights
  • Experience using PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is essential. Highly preferred experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms.
  • Must currently possess or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States)

Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:

  • Frequent interaction with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors
  • Assistance in scheduling and coordinating the involvement of relevant parties at the site for equipment installation and execution of start-up and commissioning activities
  • Internal coordination to ensure timely response to customer inquiries
  • Troubleshooting of PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment both on-site and remotely
  • Repair of equipment installed at customer facilities, including both warranty and non-warranty claims
  • Routine inspections of existing system installations
  • Ensuring proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines, ensuring work quality and report quality
  • Travel to customer sites for final commissioning and demonstration of equipment functions according to specifications to obtain customer acceptance
  • Supporting the project team in clearing and signing-off mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items as per project requirements
  • Participation in project and construction meetings, as necessary
  • Ability to prepare and provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel
  • On-site troubleshooting in case of technical issues, fault analysis and resolution, and availability for customer technical queries
  • Independent coordination with customers and/or end-users for site visits prior to departure
  • Independent coordination of all travel arrangements (including airfare, lodging, ground transportation, etc.)
  • Direct technical support for customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities
