Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Field Service Technician:

We are seeking a Field Service Technician who is capable of working independently, comfortable with direct customer interaction, proficient in writing technical reports, and able to provide product improvement recommendations to the Product Development Group. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
  • Electronics or Electrical certificate or degree
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time (domestic and international travel)
  • Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Highly preferred knowledge of PLC's
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in Windows environment and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Clean driving record
  • No fear of heights
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is required, with preference for experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms.
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States)

Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:

  • Frequent interface with customers, vendors, and contractors
  • Supporting in scheduling and coordinating the participation of vested parties for equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning activities
  • Ensuring timely response to customer inquiries by coordinating internally
  • Troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment both onsite and remotely
  • Repairing onsite equipment at customer facilities, including warranty and non-warranty claims
  • Performing routine inspections of existing system installations
  • Ensuring correct implementation of pre-commissioning activities and providing high-quality reports
  • Traveling to customer sites for final commissioning and demonstrating equipment functions as per specifications to obtain customer acceptance
  • Clearing and signing off mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items as required
  • Participating in project and construction meetings
  • Preparing and providing technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel
  • Acting as a troubleshooter and providing on-site support for technical issues
  • Independently coordinating site visits with customers and/or end-users
  • Independently coordinating travel arrangements
  • Providing direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities
