Field Service Technician

Job Title: Field Service Technician

Location: Concord, New Hampshire

Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Field Service Technician:

We are seeking a Field Service Technician who is self-directed, comfortable with direct customer interaction, capable of writing technical reports, and able to assist the Engineering team by recommending product improvements for the Product Development Group. The Field Service Technician is responsible for independently assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
  • Electronics or Electrical certificate or degree
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time (both domestically and internationally)
  • Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Strong knowledge of PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers) highly preferred
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in working with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a Windows environment
  • Clean driving record
  • No fear of heights
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required. Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms is highly preferred.
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States)

Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:

  • Frequent interaction with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors
  • Supporting the scheduling and coordination of participation from involved parties during equipment installation and start-up activities
  • Internal coordination to ensure prompt response to customer inquiries
  • Troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment both on-site and remotely
  • Repairing equipment at customer facilities, addressing both warranty and non-warranty claims
  • Performing routine inspections of existing system installations
  • Ensuring the proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities and generating comprehensive reports
  • Traveling to customer sites to perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions as specified for customer acceptance
  • Supporting the project team in clearing and signing-off mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items
  • Participating in project and construction meetings as required
  • Providing technical training to end-user operators and/or maintenance personnel
  • Responding to on-site technical issues, analyzing and resolving faults
  • Providing direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities
  • Independently coordinating site visits and travel arrangements
