Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Field Service Technician:

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician who is self-motivated and adept at communicating directly with customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing skills and the ability to provide valuable product improvement recommendations to the Product Development Group. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for independently assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems, both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
  • Electronics or Electrical certificate or degree
  • Availability to travel up to 70% of the time (both domestic and international)
  • Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Highly preferred knowledge of PLC’s
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in working with Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Clean driving record
  • Comfortable with working at heights
  • Experience in the use of PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required. Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platform(s) experience are highly preferred.
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States)

Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:

  • Frequent interactions with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors
  • Support in scheduling and coordinating the participation of vested parties during equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning
  • Timely response to customer inquiries by coordinating internally
  • Troubleshooting of PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment both onsite and remotely
  • Repairing equipment onsite at customer facilities, including both warranty and non-warranty claims
  • Conducting routine inspections of existing system installations
  • Owning the correct implementation of pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines
  • Traveling to customer sites to perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions as per specifications
  • Supporting the project team in clearing punch list items and ensuring project requirements are met
  • Participating in project and construction meetings as required
  • Preparing and providing technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel
  • Responding onsite in the event of technical issues and providing troubleshooting support
  • Coordinating site visits and travel arrangements independently
  • Providing direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities
