KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Two or Four-year degree in Civil Engineering or construction management
  • Experience with CAD programs, Excel, and Adobe preferred
  • Experience with Agtek, Bid to Win, Heavy Bid or similar is a plus

Experience in estimating grading and utilities (typical projects are site development, industrial, commercial development, utilities, mining reclamation, overburden removal and general site work is a plus. Any take off experience a plus.

What You Will Do and/or Learn to DO

  • Estimating self-performed work and pricing the labor, equipment, and material costs
  • Gain Working knowledge of construction assemblies and all project phases
  • Produce accurate estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings
  • Produce detailed, final contract estimates
  • Assess site exposures/construction risks and be able to appropriately analyze cost and reflect these in an estimate
  • Identify constructability issues through the estimating process
  • Identify value-engineering alternatives
  • Work as a team
  • Read, write and communicate effectively with Clients, Engineers, etc
  • Use or learn with Agtek, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, Cad and other takeoff/modeling software
  • Use or learn to use Bid2Win (B2W) Heavy Bid (HCSS)or similar
  • A small amount of travel within SC, NC, and GA may be required
