Environmental Health and Safety Manager
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required environmental reports to regulatory agencies, and keep environmental permits up to date
- Provide guidance for the development, implementation, and documentation of HS&E training for site personnel
- Collaborate with safety professionals and utilize internal and external resources to develop and manage programs that improve employee safety and ensure regulatory compliance
- Serve as a liaison with Local, State, and Federal Regulatory Agencies regarding safety and environmental regulatory compliance, and provide interpretation of OSHA and EPA regulations
- Coordinate the development of an Annual Safety Plan, establish goals and time frames, and control safety-related costs
- Encourage employee involvement by forming teams to address safety and environmental issues
- Support HS&E Key Element assessments
- Coordinate and report metrics on HS&E performance and compliance
- Implement and uphold Corporate HS&E Standards
- Participate in monthly HS&E Leader conference calls
- Ensure consistency in personnel practices and actions
- Manage site emergency response program and business continuity plan
- Oversee employee health programs and worker’s compensation for the plant
- Manage site security programs and initiatives
- Assist with training and qualification of site HS&E resources
- Assist with policy and procedure development, implementation, and enforcement
- Promote cross-department coordination and collaboration to maximize HS&E results
What We are Looking For:
Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3 years of experience in Occupational Safety, Environmental or science-related field, engineering, or risk management
- Advanced computer skills (including Microsoft Office Suite and regulatory system)
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
- Engineering degree
- Prior experience supporting compliance-related activities
- Working knowledge of a High-Performance Organization (HPO) culture and/or employee engagement programs
- Food manufacturing experience
