Job Summary:

As an Electromechanical Design Engineer, you will independently conceptualize, design, test, and transition new mechanical and electro-mechanical products into production. Additionally, you will provide support to production, collaborate with vendors, and offer assistance to both our sales team and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Design:
    • Conceptualize and create sketches based on ideas or design parameters.
    • Perform engineering calculations to ensure safe and robust designs.
    • Design components and assemblies, build and test prototypes, and log results.
    • Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOM).
  • Drafting:
    • Create technical drawings and drafts using CAD (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) and by hand when necessary.
    • Assist in creating manuals and technical documentation.
  • Production Support:
    • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
    • Design and fabricate production fixtures and machinery.
    • Provide support to the repair department when needed.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Assist in locating and auditing vendors, setting up files, and aiding initial procurement processes.
  • Quality Control:
    • Inspect incoming parts and assign corrective actions when necessary.
    • Ensure adherence to company procedures and standards.
  • Sales Support:
    • Design custom components and assemblies for non-standard requests.
    • Support the sales team with technical assistance and perform field demonstrations.
    • Respond to technical inquiries from the sales staff and customers.

Additional Responsibilities:

Be prepared to take on additional tasks as required or assigned, ensuring all duties are completed with a commitment to quality and innovation.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CAD systems (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).
  • Strong engineering calculation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Highly organized with strong planning skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Hands-on, practical experience with basic hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Strong 2D drafting skills, with a basic understanding of GD&T and Stack Analysis.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team or independently.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • 3+ years of experience as a design engineer, ideally within an industrial equipment manufacturing company.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and maintain a roll-up-your-sleeves approach to problem-solving and innovation.
