Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Salary: $110-130K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager to join our Engineering team. You will become a part of an industry-leading organization in the mobile electrification market that excels not only in manufacturing top-quality products but also in providing exceptional "service after the sale". In this hands-on role, you will collaborate with the risk management, EHS, engineering, and manufacturing teams to identify patterns and implement preventive measures to minimize product and process failures.

Job Responsibilities of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager:

  • Ensure timely completion of Controls and Automation design tasks
  • Review and approve ECOs, design packages, bills of materials, firmware/software, math data, and other technical documentation
  • Provide leadership and expertise to the Controls and Automation team
  • Assist additional engineering teams by offering electrical and automation engineering knowledge to complete large cross-functional projects
  • Support research and development activities
  • Review design risk assessment, verification, and validation activities as needed
  • Design and validate embedded hardware systems, schematics, and PCB assemblies; Develop and validate embedded software using C
  • Program microcontrollers and PLCs to process I/O signals and ensure reliable error-free communications
  • Review Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and provide support in addressing root causes and resolving issues
  • Coordinate engineering activities across all engineering teams in collaboration with the Director of Engineering and Engineering Managers
  • Supervise a group of Electrical Engineers, Automation Engineers, and Application Engineers who support our Control and Automation products

Education & Experience of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering; or equivalent education and experience
  • 3 – 7 years of experience in managing and leading technical staff as an engineering manager, supervisor, or similar role
  • Experience with UL, IEC, FCC, and similar standards for electrical system design and regulatory compliance
  • Extensive knowledge of embedded system design, firmware, and software code creation, review, and control
  • Experience with EPLAN Electric P8, Altium Designer, and Embedded Software development in C
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high productivity and meeting project deadlines
  • Preferred knowledge of programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and Industrial Ethernet communication protocols
