EHS Manager

Job Summary

A well-known company is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager for their Cincinnati location. This position will support the company's nationwide operations and be responsible for managing the plant's environmental, health, and safety programs. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHS Manager will ensure that the plant minimizes its impact on the environment and provides a safe work environment. This role involves leading a team of employees, delivering training programs on work site safety and environmental practices, and developing an EHS culture throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of environmental, health, safety, and sustainable development programs
  • Promote plant safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainability stewardship by analyzing the current situation and recommending improvements
  • Ensure environmental compliance and performance following government regulations, corporate guidelines, and applicable requirements
  • Support accident investigations and prepare reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Conduct inspections and audits in the plant and at other facilities to identify potential accident hazards and determine preventive measures
  • Facilitate the Safety Committee process by actively participating in the subcommittee process and serving as a resource
  • Administer initial Workers Compensation functions
  • Provide necessary compliance training to ensure OSHA, EPA, and company requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of industrial safety experience
  • 3 years of EHS management experience
  • Understanding of and ability to interpret OSHA, EPA, DOT, federal, and state regulations
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and audits
  • Food process manufacturing experience is a plus
