SUMMARY

The role of the Corporate Director of Procurement is to develop and implement strategies for procuring all necessary ingredients, packaging, and indirect goods and services to support the business. This position involves managing relationships with suppliers, monitoring market trends, and ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining high quality and service standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Implement forward-looking procurement and buying strategies to ensure long-term supply and cost certainty
  • Advise senior leadership on procurement, quality, and R&D risks, and propose alternative solutions
  • Create a balanced scorecard for cost, quality, service, and people-related metrics
  • Develop year-over-year productivity cost reduction plans to meet business objectives
  • Support new product launches and innovation
  • Establish professional relationships with senior leadership to drive the procurement vision
  • Review and analyze monthly purchase price variance (PPV) and indirect procurement cost plan
  • Address business needs proactively with a hands-on approach
  • Coach, train, and develop the procurement team

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, the candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, and have experience in negotiating contracts.

Education and/or Experience

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, with an MBA preferred. A minimum of 10 years of prior experience is required, specifically in the food or beverage industry. Experience in procurement of agricultural commodities and packaging, as well as indirect procurement and global sourcing, is highly desirable.

The candidate should also have the ability to work independently, lead a procurement team, and possess excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
