Construction Project Manager – Concrete

About the Company

We are seeking a Concrete Construction Manager for our company based in Woodland Hills, CA. As a major structures commercial contractor, we specialize in both Design-Build General Contracting and Structural Concrete. Our projects include the New Tom Bradly International Terminal, Wilshire-Curson 32-story high-rise residential tower, The Source 2,700 car parking structure, Gilead Pharmaceuticals Corporate Campus and Distribution Center, and many more. Join our team of 800 tradesmen and 40 office staff!

Please note that we are looking for candidates from larger companies who are experienced in managing large-scale projects and are familiar with using management software on a daily basis. Our projects have strict formal processes and our contracts range from $15 million to $150 million. Our company specializes in 100% at risk contracting and only handles lump sum fixed price contracts.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Concrete Construction Manager for projects ranging from $10 to $35 million. The job will involve overseeing the construction of Class A high rise buildings and multi-story parking structures in the LA, Orange County, and Inland Empire areas.

1. Minimum of 10 years experience.
2. Strong understanding of scoping, buyout, cost control, and communication skills.
3. Experience with Prolog and Converge software is a plus.

Additional Notes on Project Managers:

In general, we are seeking Project Managers who:

1. Have a minimum of 5 consecutive years as a PM in the commercial building industry, preferably working on ground up new construction projects. Experience with mid-size office buildings and large parking structures is preferred.

2. Are willing to work on either Design-Build General Contracting or Structural Concrete Subcontractor projects. Our projects range from high-rise towers to transportation and aviation, parking structures, office buildings, higher education, large multi-family podiums, government buildings, hotels, green energy, NASA, and military projects.

3. Will be responsible for self-performing the structural concrete work as a Union Contractor.

4. Are familiar with computerized project management software.

5. Are responsible for cost control, including reviewing budgets, reporting on project finances, and managing payment applications and schedules.

6. Can write scopes for subcontracts and purchase orders.

7. Act as a liaison between the project site, owner, and/or general contractor.

8. Have the ability to read and understand plans and specifications at a detailed level.

9. Are willing to learn and adapt to our company's project management processes.

10. Are team players who are willing to do the work themselves, rather than delegating tasks.

11. No out-of-state candidates.

12. No candidates with more than 40 years of experience in the industry. 30 years is the maximum.

13. No candidates who have held Director, Executive, or Manager positions. We need hands-on Project Managers who can handle the day-to-day work.

14. No candidates with a history of frequent job changes and short employment terms (2 years or less).
