THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

We are seeking a Commercial Construction Superintendent for projects primarily located in South Carolina. The ideal candidate must have experience with projects of $8 million and above, with a preference for experience in K-12, Higher Education, Office Buildings, Hospitality, and general commercial construction. This opportunity is due to the continued success and growth of the company.

  • Responsible for overseeing all site construction activities, including field and subcontractor personnel, to ensure timely and budgeted completion of projects with high-quality workmanship.
  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
  • Recruits and hires according to company policies and guidelines.
  • Maintains construction schedule and resolves any issues.
  • Orders materials and schedules inspections.
  • Ensures compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Maintains relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and employees.
  • Prepares reports, schedules, and coordinates project closeout.
  • Promotes and enforces job site safety practices.
  • Maintains a clean and organized job site.
  • Conducts progress meetings and reviews job cost reporting.
  • Reviews subcontractor scopes of work and provides feedback to the Project Manager.
  • Collaborates with the Project Manager in scheduling pre-construction meetings.
  • Reviews and coordinates submittals.
  • Ensures quality workmanship and proper workflow.

BACKGROUND PROFILE:

  • Five or more years of experience as a commercial superintendent in ground-up construction.
  • Experience as a superintendent on projects of $8 million and above.
  • Proficient in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, safety, and production in all construction phases.
  • Experience in supervising large or multiple projects.
  • Travel required within the state.
  • OSHA Certification and Safety/CPR Certification are pluses.
  • Must be a hands-on leader.
