Job Title: CNC Operator

Location: Dayton, Nevada

Salary: $20-25/hour

Job Summary of the CNC Operator:

The CNC Operator will review blueprints and work instructions to produce accurate work product that meets quality standards, safety requirements, and allotted run times. The operator will also work towards achieving efficiency and productivity goals while minimizing waste and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Job Responsibilities of the CNC Operator:

  • Ensure familiarity with the complete scope and proposed method of design for assigned projects.
  • Review blueprints, work instructions, and the production schedule to meet product specifications and run times.
  • Record work in process, job details, labor, and attendance information using ERP and designated computer systems.
  • Work efficiently and complete tasks within budgeted labor hours.
  • Select equipment and materials, maintain specifications through work process observation, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Use gauges, hand tools, and precision measurement tools to perform product validation and inspection.
  • Report mistakes or issues that impact operations.
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce job costs and run times.
  • Perform regular monitoring and service checks on tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a tidy work area and clean equipment.
  • Work independently or collaborate with other employees to complete orders.

Education & Experience of the CNC Operator:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associates degree in CNC Machining, Tool & Die Making, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of six (6) months combined experience and education in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience as a CNC Operator (Mills & Lathes) or Multi-Axis CNC Operator.
  • Strong mathematic and problem-solving skills to operate equipment and troubleshoot errors.
  • Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions and use precision measurement tools and gauges.
  • Ability to work well in a team or individual setting.
  • Attention to detail and strong mechanical aptitude to produce quality work and operate machinery and equipment.
