Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual for the position of CNC Milling - Cell Lead. The chosen candidate will be responsible for operating CNC milling machines with minimal supervision, as well as training and leading a team of machinists in a cellular manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of CNC operations, strong mentorship capabilities, and a dedication to producing high-quality, tight-tolerance parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently set up and operate CNC milling and/or lathe machines using established programs, fixtures, and machining methods.
  • Mentor and train less experienced machinists to support skill development and team efficiency.
  • Make program edits and machine adjustments to ensure parts meet blueprint, sketch, or work order specifications.
  • Run multiple machines within a cellular manufacturing setup to maximize productivity.
  • Apply expert knowledge of feeds, speeds, and cutting tools for efficient and accurate machining.
  • Perform precise dimensional inspections (+/- .0002 tolerance) and ensure parts meet strict quality standards.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation including job travelers, part counts, scrap records, and time logs.
  • Uphold best machining practices, ensuring consistent quality and process stability.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, machines, and tooling; complete operator maintenance and coolant level checks.
  • Support production goals by leading by example, coaching peers, and fostering a team-oriented work environment.
  • Comply with all company safety, housekeeping, and quality policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience operating CNC machines, with a strong focus on milling.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical sketches.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in English verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated leadership or team mentorship experience is highly desirable.
