CNC Machinist

Machinists play a vital role in operating machinery and achieving production goals in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.


  • Able to interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and tolerances for finished workpieces. Understands the sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  • Experienced in setting up and operating 5-axis CNC mills and lathes for aerospace parts.
  • Competent in using measuring instruments such as height gages, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Proficient in setting up CNC Mill tooling and cutting tools.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines like mills and lathes.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut. Also familiar with entering commands into computerized machine control media.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and makes adjustments as necessary.
  • Utilizes various measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and depth micrometers to verify the conformance of finished workpieces to specifications. Knowledge of CMM, GD&T, and SPC preferred.
  • Performs trial runs to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Collaborates with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems.
  • Completes necessary paperwork and computer entry steps.
  • Performs light deburring, buffing, or polishing of some parts as required.
  • Complies with foreign object prevention techniques when working on the product.
  • Stays current and proficient with all applicable quality processes associated with assigned work.
  • Cleans and maintains work area.
  • Participates in continuous improvement programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all PSI Safety Procedures.

Requirements (Education & Experience):

  • Preferably has 5+ years of experience working with CNC mills and lathes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with manual mill & lathe is preferred.
  • Must have computer literacy.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics (GD&T).
  • Requires manual dexterity for operating machinery and computers.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to motivate/teach others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to multitask as required.
