Join Our Team as a CNC Lathe Operator in New Britain, CT!

Are you an experienced and reliable CNC Lathe Machinist looking for a new opportunity? Our manufacturing client is in need of a skilled individual to operate CNC lathe equipment, specifically Nakamura machines. This is a direct-hire position that requires a minimum of five years of CNC machine setup experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC lathe equipment, including Nakamura machines.
• Work independently from blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Select, change, and set all required tooling.
• Determine and adjust appropriate feeds and speeds.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
• Properly use and understand measuring and gauging equipment.
• Ensure the quality of all products produced on assigned machines.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues.
• Train and monitor operators within the department.
• Conduct line walks in the lathe area as directed by the supervisor.
• Follow all company safety policies and promptly report unsafe conditions or practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years of CNC machine setup experience.
• Demonstrated CNC lathe setup and operating experience.
• Experience with Nakamura equipment is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of machining feeds and speeds.
• Proficiency with inspection tools, measuring instruments, and gauges.
• Ability to work independently while supporting department operators.
• Understanding of Lean Enterprise principles and tools.
