Coordinate Measuring Machine Programmer

Location: Colchester, CT

As a CMM Programmer, your main responsibility will be to conduct advanced in-process, final bench, and product feature inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). You will be in charge of programming and operating CMMs to ensure precision and quality throughout the manufacturing process, making sure that products meet strict specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CMM Programming & Operation: Program and operate CMMs to perform complex measurements and inspections on parts and products, guaranteeing accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
  • In-Process & Final Inspections: Conduct detailed in-process and final inspections of products, with a focus on critical dimensions, tolerances, and features. Ensure quality control is maintained throughout the production cycle.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve discrepancies in measurements or inspection processes. Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to address any quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
  • Quality Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, measurement data, and quality reports. Provide feedback to support continuous improvement efforts in production and quality processes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality, production, and engineering, to ensure a seamless inspection process and contribute to the overall success of the manufacturing operation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in measurement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing setting.
  • Previous experience in quality control or inspection is a plus.
