Our client is in search of a skilled and reliable Building Maintenance Technician to join their team. This position is based in Branford, CT and requires the maintenance and servicing of various properties across Connecticut. As a Building Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively manage tasks across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Repairs: Handle repairs on fixtures, equipment, and structural components such as doors, windows, drywall, and flooring.
- Preventative Maintenance: Create and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal functioning of equipment and systems.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and resolve issues effectively.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities are in line with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an appropriate inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
- Recordkeeping: Document all maintenance and repair activities, including inspections, repairs, and preventative tasks.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with site managers, contractors, and vendors for specialized repairs and projects.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Building Maintenance Technician or in a similar role, preferably in a multi-site setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as HVAC, EPA, or electrical are highly desirable.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Transportation: Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license for travel between sites.
- Availability: Must be willing to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergencies.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and maintenance software.
