Senior Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures
  • Independently plan and execute small to medium-sized projects within the field of engineering, including plans, investigations, and equipment. Manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
  • Achieve the project's financial targets in support of business objectives. Maintain project controls and reporting for cost, scope, and schedule. Develop execution strategy and procurement process. Balance multiple demands
  • Produce unique and cost-effective results by considering alternate use possibilities and incorporating flexibility. Oversee design work of internal and external consultants. Create or modify designs for intermediate problems. Integrate financial and technical data
  • Analyze complex interdisciplinary problems, identify their impact, establish probabilities, and draw conclusions reflecting broad business needs
  • Represent engineering on corporate task forces. Identify and propose solutions to address the full range of customer needs. Make alterations in products or services to better meet customer needs
  • Monitor the improvement of other engineers and may participate in the evaluation of assigned staff/project team members and identify development needs. May supervise other engineers or technicians

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, science, or closely related discipline desired, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence, with a desired 5+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience. A post-graduate education/degree is desired and may contribute towards the desired years of experience
  • Prior experience in automation and data integrity, preferably in a related industry
  • Experience working with PLCs and HMIs (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens, ELAU, B&R) required
  • Working knowledge of SQL scripts and VBA programming highly preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures. Able to work on complex problems with multiple competing factors. Demonstrates judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse groups in engineering and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators
  • Strong communication skills and ability to understand others' perspectives. Able to articulate one's own perspective tactfully and respectfully orally, in writing, and in presentations
  • Collaborative and works well with other engineers in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences
  • Technical background in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biologics, or similar industries preferred
  • Demonstrated competency with financial systems and fiscal control
