CAD Technician

San Ramon, CA

Responsibilities:

• High Voltage experience up to 220KV (Must)
• Prepare Single Line Diagrams
• Create Electrical Equipment Plan & Section Layouts
• Develop Earthing & Lightning Protection Layouts
• Produce Erection Key Diagrams
• Generate Power Cable Tray Route Layouts
• Prepare Lighting and Power Layouts
• Prepare General Arrangement Layouts
• Responsible for the preparation of Electrical Execution Drawings for grounding layout
• Create Cable Trench Layouts, Area Cable Trench & Tray Routing Layouts
• Check Electrical drawings prepared by Electrical Draught Person, manage IDC (Inter Discipline Check-Print), resolve obstructions & interferences with other disciplines to ensure error-free design deliverables
• Conduct site visits during construction for surveys & As-Built updates
• Check Electrical drawings prepared by Electrical Designer/Draught Person
• Knowledgeable in drafting procedures, CAD deliverables, and Electrical-related standards
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment

Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
• Professional Engineer (PE) License is a plus
• 4+ years of experience in engineering/designing electrical systems within the Utilities or Energy industry
• Skilled in AutoCAD (MicroStation experience is a plus)
• Experience with ETAP, WinIGS, IEEE 88/998
• Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Bentley MicroStation, and/or Bentley Substation software to develop 2D drawings or 3D models is a plus
