A leading nonprofit skilled nursing facility in Connecticut is in search of an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to be a part of its clinical leadership team. Working closely with the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing will assist in the coordination, development, and supervision of daily clinical and administrative operations within the Nursing Services Department. This pivotal role involves overseeing charge nurses and supervisors, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, driving Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts, and promoting the overall well-being of residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to manage daily operations of the nursing department in adherence to regulatory standards
  • Provide leadership and support to Charge Nurses and Nurse Supervisors, offering training and delegating responsibilities effectively
  • Conduct regular clinical rounds to monitor care delivery, medication administration, treatment plans, and infection prevention protocols
  • Lead resident assessments and contribute to the development of individualized care plans
  • Assist in staffing management, scheduling, and staff training initiatives
  • Coordinate care with medical professionals, government agencies, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Oversee medication administration, error reporting, and budget planning
  • Collaborate with the Staff Development Coordinator on training programs and policy enforcement

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN)
  • Licensure & Certification: Active RN license in Connecticut, current CPR certification
  • Supervisory Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a healthcare leadership role
  • Restorative Nursing Experience: At least 6 months in rehabilitative nursing
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of long-term care regulations and health codes
