Position Overview
We are seeking an Application Development Chemist to work in our laboratory environment, focusing on formulation preparation, material characterizations, coating application, and comparative bench marking. This role requires a deep understanding of our product portfolio, including its performance, capabilities, and usage in coating applications. In addition, the person in this role will provide technical service to customers alongside our Sales & Marketing team.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate newly developed resin systems and provide R&D insight and direction
- Significant involvement in project management and new product development processes
- Develop a thorough understanding of our product portfolio and industry trends
- Assist in the development and organization of technical and environmental data
- Provide technical guidance and support to Sales and Marketing teams
- Represent the organization in forums and conferences within specific area of expertise
Required Skills and Experience
- 10 - 15 years of experience in formulation and application
- Experience working in a coatings and/or paint laboratory
- Experience with solvent borne materials and polymer chemistry
- Experience with automotive coatings is beneficial
- Knowledge of laboratory and equipment safety protocols
- Proficiency in experimental planning and data analysis
- Availability for domestic travel (10-15% of the time)
Qualifications
Master's or bachelor's degree in a scientific field, preferably chemistry (polymer chemistry is a plus).
