Business Development Manager

Corporate Growth Strategist Position in Baraboo, WI

Our client is a reputable contract manufacturer that specializes in producing electro-mechanical assemblies and has a unique business unit focused on water treatment systems. They are seeking a Business Development Manager within the water treatment industry to help drive their growth. The main responsibilities of this role include driving technical sales and expanding new business opportunities from initial lead generation to closed sales across various types of accounts such as OEM, distributor, dealer, and private-label.

You will be reporting to the general manager.

Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:

  • Lead the full sales lifecycle including lead generation, sample testing, quotations, and commercial proposals
  • Build new accounts across various sectors within the water treatment industry
  • Maintain an active and qualified Salesforce CRM pipeline

Technical & Account Management:

  • Act as the technical expert for various water treatment products
  • Manage key customer relationships through regular reviews and identifying expansion opportunities

Internal Coordination & Strategy:

  • Collaborate with different departments to meet customer requirements
  • Participate in account reviews with the General Manager
  • Travel up to 50% for customer visits, supplier meetings, and trade shows

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in residential/light commercial water treatment equipment sales
  • Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and AI productivity tools
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%

Preferred Qualities:

  • Hands-on expertise with water treatment products
  • Existing relationships and experience selling to specific customer segments
  • WQA education, certification, or industry involvement

Measurements of Success:

  • Conversion of qualified leads into closed sales
  • Development of a qualified pipeline
  • Growth, retention, and satisfaction of key customer accounts
